Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.
The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of five departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.
Department of Behavioural Sciences har approximately 750 students and 60 employees. The department is represented at all three campus; Kjeller, Pilestredet and Sandvika.

There is a fixed-term vacancy for the position of head of the Department of Behavioural Sciences at the Faculty of Health Sciences from 1 August 2019. The head of department will be appointed for a fixed term of four years, with the possibility of applying for a further two terms – 12 years in total.
The head of the department has the academic and administrative responsibility for education, research, development work and dissemination. The head of department is also a driving force for cooperation with the field of practice and takes active part in the faculty's internationalisation efforts. The responsibilities include managing the department's programme coordinators in addition to overseeing the finances and results, and the position reports to the dean. The head of department is part of the dean’s management team who actively work to ensure that the faculty contributes to OsloMet’s efforts to be a university that ‘delivers knowledge that can solve society’s challenges.

Other information
The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees, 1475 head of department. The salary is NOK 754,900–893,900 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
