Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with almost 22,000 students and over 2,500 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.

The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD) offers higher education and research and development (R&D) activities within technical subjects, arts and design. The Faculty has approximately 4.000 students and 400 staff members and is situated at Pilestredet Campus in downtown Oslo and at Kjeller Campus in Viken.

The Department of Computer Science offers three bachelor’s degree programmes, a master’s degree programme, and is part of a cross-departmental PhD program. Academic staff at the department are pursuing research in a wide range of areas including computer science, the natural sciences, and innovation and management. Both students and researchers are also involved in an increasing number of interdisciplinary initiatives across the university.

The Department of Computer Science has a vacancy for a temporary position (100%) from 01.08.2021 to 30.06.2023 with a possibility to be extended as Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Welfare Technology and Universal Design of ICT. 

The candidate will be expected to teach courses at the bachelor and master level, as well as life-long learning courses, and supervise bachelor and master students.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Planning, developing and delivering courses at Bachelor and Master level, and courses withinthe realm of lifelong learning education. This includes teaching, supervision and assessment 
  • Actively contributing to the development of high-quality education
  • Actively contributing to the development of the department and the rest of OsloMet
  • Performing administrative tasks related to educational activities

Qualifications requirements for Associate Professor:

  • PhD in a field relevant to welfare technology or universal design of ICT
  • For applicants to the associate professor position, documented research work and publications within welfare technology or universal design of ICT is required
  • Proficiency in oral and writtenEnglish is required. Proficiency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage.

Qualifications requirements for Assistant Professor:

  • University degree equivalent to a master's degree in a field relevant to welfare technology or universal design of ICT. The applicant must document relevant educational theory and practice for higher education.
  • Proficiency in oral and writtenEnglish is required. Proficiency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage.

The position is remunerated in accordance with the Norwegian State salary scale 60-74, job code 1011 Associate Professor, the salary is NOK 535 200 – 694 400 per year. Or scale 51-66, job code 1009 Assistant Professor, the salary is NOK 458 900 – 597 000. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
